September 2 "False Peace" Ezekiel 13-15

Walls crumble.
Lives crumble.
May we live under the mercy of a strong and mighty God Who offers us stability without walls.

Because they lead my people astray, saying, “Peace,” when there is no peace, and because, when a flimsy wall is built, they cover it with whitewash, therefore tell those who cover it with whitewash that it is going to fall. Rain will come in torrents, and I will send hailstones hurtling down, and violent winds will burst forth. When the wall collapses, will people not ask you, “Where is the whitewash you covered it with?” Ezekiel 13:10

DEAR GOD, PLEASE CHANGE ME WHEN MY WALLS CRUMBLE TODAY.  Help me to find You because I am weak not because I am strong.  And when the walls tumble down today, may I be found standing tall.  Psalm 3:3

  1. Whitewashed walls over shabby foundations and false peace predictions. . .You can't cover up and look okay on the outside. Inside walls must be fortified. False peace is not peace. "You have not gone up to the breaches in the wall to repair it for the people of Israel so that it will stand firm in the battle on the day of the Lord."

Where are the weaknesses? What needs a fresh Breath of God in the dry areas of my life? It is time to inspect the foundation, check for breaches. No whitewashed truths, fake peace. He is my only Peace. Jesus alone is the rock upon which I build.

We are learning not to trust in chariots and men, but to fully rely on God in our home. We've struggled the past couple of months with some real "eroding" issues. There are chinks in the walls. Ezekiel reminds us to inspect and repair. Get solid in the Word. Forget about shining up the outside until the inside is solid and strong and firm. Return, Glory of the Presence. Let us stand firm in the battle on that nearing Day of the Lord.

  2. It is good to read your posts again Annette! Only God can repair the walls in our lives as we allow access through trusting in His Grace -- God is always available--always Gracious--always loving and forgiving--a gentle reassurance of the need to live by His guidelines for a victorious life

  3. Oh! I just love this! Something about hearing Truth from another tasting the same words of God. Something about it!
