May 25 "Fight for your Families" Nehemiah 4-6

Sanballat heard that they were rebuilding the wall.

Incensed!

"What are those feeble Jews doing?"

"Can they bring the stones back to life?"

And Nehemiah responded by praying to God:

"Hear us, our God, for we are despised."

And that's how I feel tonight from those I trusted.

In the face of opposition ...

The people kept on working

with all their heart.  Nehemiah 4:6

And the opposition grew even worse.

Even though the people prayed and 

posted guards day & night to meet the threats.

Don't be afraid.  Remember your God.  Fight for your families. Neh 4:14

Half of Judah worked; half of them stood guard with spears.

Some worked with a spear in their left hand and a tool in their right.

They didn't even take their clothes off.

From the first light of dawn til the stars came out each night.

They didn't lose heart.  They trusted their God to fight for them.

DEAR GOD:  PLEASE CHANGE ME AND ALL OF US IN THESE 10,000 MOMENTS that we keep on working; that we keep on praying; that we keep on trusting; that we keep on loving.  With all of our heart!  Fight for us, O God!  For those we confront do not respond like we hope.  Change me.  That's all I can say!
