Ezra knelt and spread his hands
Spread full out: before his God.
Ashamed and, even, humiliated.
Yet, he had done nothing wrong.
It was the people who married...
wives from neighboring borders.
Yet, Ezra pulls his very own hair
out of his head, out of his beard.
What vigilance & what passion!
For the sake of the Lord his God.
“The gracious hand of our God
is on everyone who looks to him.
