July 22 "Wonder Upon Wonder" Isaiah 28, 29, 30

Three Verses I have thought about for the past three decades.
The default of the Jews was to go to their neighbors if they needed help,
not to their God.
What about me?
I too have run to the arms of flesh for guidance, counsel, support.
May we deeply depend this day on the LORD our God.

In Returning and Rest
In Quietness and Trust
Shall be Your Strength.
Isaiah 30:15

The LORD longs to be gracious to you
He longs to show mercy to you.
He is a God of justice.
Blessed are those who wait for Him, not for any man.
Isaiah 30:18

And though the Lord gives you
the bread of adversity and the water of affliction,
Your teacher will not hide himself anymore.
Your eyes will see Your Teacher.
Your ears will hear a word behind you, saying:
This is the way, walk in it.
When you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.
Isaiah 30:20-21

COME BOLDLY:  Timeless Prayers
Father, we will find strength in affliction because You are there.  Help us this day in what you have allowed in your Providential Hand to escape the snares of the enemy of our souls.  Help us this day to find that quietness and rest in You in the midst of this world we live in.

PHOTO: A Rabbit Hole.  As we look deep into the holes of our own lives, may we sense Your Presence with us, Your Provision toward us, and Your Bending Low to us.

  1. Beautifully stated, Bev. Love the word picture of God bending low to help us.

And this truth today that knowledge is obtained little by little.
For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept,
line upon line, line upon line,
here a little, there a little.”

God's Word is alive and growing within us. So stunningly beautiful and true are His Ways, and the way He reveals Himself to us.

  2. I, too have sought the counsel and comfort of others before I went to the Only One who could answer correctly and Who could comfort like no other. I have been so guilty of wanting to have flesh on the arms of God. He has and is still gently teaching me that He is the Only One who can truly comfort. In the middle of the night, He is the One who neither slumbers nor sleeps and is available.
